New Year Brings New Furniture

This time of year typically is a very busy and festive one for us all. In the furniture industry it can be a very busy time as people want a new look for a new year.

If you could pick one room and change it with a new item or two which room would it be? What items would you want to add or replace?

I worked for Wood You for several years and was always impressed with the quality and value of the products, the commitment to great service by the staff, and and the loyal following by our customers. Working for Wood You was a great experience, and one I will never forget!

My husband and I bought two bedside tables from your store in Auburn, AL. I would like to paint them black, but something more of an antique or milk paint look. What do you recommend and do you sell anything like that in your stores?

====================================

Response to M.M.:

M.M.,

I do not get to visit the Auburn, AL store as much as I would like but I know they carry a milk paint that would work well with any furniture need you might have. May I suggest you give them a quick call (334)749-3535 and you will find the staff both knowledgeable and willing to assist you in every manner possible. Either that or swing back by the store and visit their in store Design Center where there is an example of every finishing option available . . . enjoy and thank you so much for your business!

Hi,
I need to replace some broken brass and ceramic dresser drawer pulls on our oak bedroom set. The holes are 4 and 1/2" apart. This is an odd size apparently. Can anyone tell me where I can order some replacement pulls. I'd really like to switch to a brushed nickel style if possible.
Thanks!

==============================================
Response to KC:

KC,
That is a wide drawer pull but there are sites out there that can help. I did a quick search for "4 1/2" drawer pulls hardware and came up with some sites. You may want to take a look at this site:

http://www.dlawlesshardware.com/nonstancenpu.html

This is a site for non standard drawer pulls, hope it helps! If not do a search for non standard drawer pulls and take a look at all the options, there are a number of companies who specialize in this.

I bought a desk for my home office and quite a few of your bookcases to complete the room. I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with all that I received from you. It looks great and I saved a lot of money from the other stores I had shopped. My next room is my living room and Wood You will be my first shopping choice!

Response to Rick:

Rick,

THANK YOU for all of your help!

I have been looking for a computer desk for over a month now. I came across your site through a desperate internet search and have since stopped by your store.
What a neat concept!
I am going by this weekend to order my desk - finally the search is over! Next time I will be thinking of you much earlier when I have a furniture need.

My son has picked out the all wood three in one baby crib. Does this furniture have to be finished? Will it be protected if not finished and if it has to be finished what do you recommend to keep a natural would look, Thanks

----------------------------------------
Response to Kim:

Kim,
Your son will love that crib! It is available finished in many of our stores in a variety of colors. Check with your local Wood You to see if they are involved in that program.

Yes the crib will need some form of protection. As for keeping it a natural color you have a few options as well. There is a stain color actually called natural that will give you the look you are desiring. There are also those who just apply Wood You's topcoat only which will keep a very natural color as well. You will find your local store's personnel very knowledgeable in assisting you with your selection. Make sure and let them know exactly what your desires are and they will be able to offer you all your options.

Thanks again for spending time on our blog and for giving us a chance to earn your business. Have a wonderful week!

HI I LIKE THAT YOU HAVE A VARIETY. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME BUYING FURNITURE FROM YOUR STORE. MY QUESTION IS DO YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF PURCHASING IT FINISHED OR FINISHED WOOD. ALSO WOULDNT IT BE A GOOD IDEA IF YOU POSTED THEIR PRICES ON THE ONLINE? thank you

----------------------------------------------
Response to OSI:

OSI,
Thanks for visiting our blog! Keep checking back we are continuing to add items everyday to our site! You can also visit our manufacturers links to see their complete lines they offer.

There are some items in the stores that allow you to purchase them finished. Visit our manufacturer - John Thomas - www.johnthomasfurniture.com (There is a link to this manufacturer on the left on every page of our site). . . this is a finished line that is available in many of our stores. Also many stores have finishers they can put you in touch with for them to finish your furniture for you. However, you will always get your best value doing the finishing job yourself and it is no where near as difficult as most think . . . the savings and pride of a job well done can be very rewarding!

As always check with your local Wood You store to see exactly what options they offer in their personal stores.

As for prices, Wood You has stores overseas and their tax structure is totally different from the USA so displaying prices is really not an option. This is not the only reason but it is a major factor as to why there are no prices on the site. Thanks again for joining in on the blog we look forward to hearing from you after you get the furniture in your home.

Sincerely,
Brett B.

There is no store near me but I used to live in Georgia near a store and loved your furniture. Will Wood You ever sale on the internet?

-------------------------------------------------
Response to Darlene:

Darlene,

Well we appreciate your business in the past. As of now we are not selling off the internet but it is something that has been discussed casually in the past. What we could do is look into you buying from a store and having it shipped to you. As many of our stores are privately owned I would need to check with them first and make sure they can facilitate a sale like this. I know that I would not have a problem finding you a store that would be willing to assist and we could even start with the store in Georgia that you have a relationship with.

Feel free to go to our locations page and contact stores on your own or if you want email me at bbwoodyou@bellsouth.net and I will put you in touch with a store that can assist.

Thank you again,
Brett Blankenship

Do you ever offer discounts or coupons?

==============================================

Response to Mr Snelgrove:

Mr. Snelgrove,

Yes sir we do offer discounts and coupons as well as in store specials that may vary from town to town and store to store. On our specials page you will see different specific items as well as generic coupons. Many of the Wood You stores are privately owned and you will find they run their own sales within their markets. At the bottom of each special we put on here we always encourage you to check with your local store to see if they are participating.

What Wood You store is nearest you? This would help me better answer your question.

When I go to a website to search, I want to see the products the store has and prices. To me without price, it's not worth using.

=============================================
Reaponse to Kathy:

Kathy,
Thanks so much for taking the time to contact us. With the speed at which manufacturers ad and remove items we have chosen this style of a website (allowing the manufacturers to update their website).

As for prices it is all but impossible to show prices on the site. We have multiple stores on different islands in the Bahamas as well as in Trinidad. Their country's tax structure is totally different that in the USA. So to show a price would not be accurate in many of our stores.

However we do have the contact page where you can give us all the skew number of items you are interested in and your local store will contact you with prices. I do agree it would be nice to be able to show the prices but due to our situation it is all but impossible.

Have a wonderful week and we look forward to serving you!

Well seeing how I just bought a banging new plasma I will be replacing my pocket door armoire in our living room with one of our high boys and a pier.

Just in time for the National Championship game too!
